For more than 30 years, Wendy’s has been a proud supporter of the Foundation. Its signature program, Wendy's Wonderful Kids, focuses on finding permanent homes for children and youth who have lingered in foster care the longest across the United States and Canada.
The Impact of Wendy's Wonderful Kids Recruiters
Using a child-focused approach, Wendy’s Wonderful Kids recruiters begin their search for a permanent family within a child’s network of family, including extended family members, friends and others who already care for them and can meet their needs. Wendy's Wonderful Kids recruiters work with smaller caseloads of 12–15 children, dedicating the time, resources and unwavering support each child deserves.
A rigorous, five-year evaluation conducted by Child Trends in the U.S. revealed that children referred to the Wendy’s Wonderful Kids program are up to 3x more likely to be adopted. And more than 16,000 children have been adopted through the Foundation’s program to date.

Meet Christian! He spent more than five years in foster care, often separated from his brother Brody. His Wendy's Wonderful Kids recruiter, Cyndi, recognized the deep, irreplaceable bond between the brothers and connected with Sean, a single dad who had previously adopted Brody. After meaningful visits, Sean made the decision to adopt Christian and keep the brothers together. At age 13, Christian was adopted – a day he often references as the "best day ever."
Today, Christian and Brody are thriving together, building joyful memories with the loving family who supports and cares for them.
