Emily is a third-generation Girl Scout. Her mom was her Troop Leader when she was a Girl Scout herself, and now she's the Troop Leader for her seven-year-old daughter. The funny part? She didn't volunteer. At troop info night, when they asked for volunteers, her daughter took matters into her own hands, turned around, pointed directly at her mom, and that was that. Emily had been officially "voluntold!"
The Power of Girl Scouts Across Generations
It wasn't until the first Thin MintsTM Frosty launch in 2025 that Emily reconnected with how formative these experiences had been. Visiting the Girl Scouts of the USA headquarters sparked something profound. Looking back, she realized how much she learned there: CPR certification, life skills, and memories she still talks about decades later. Now, as a troop leader, she gets to create those same moments for the next generation, which feels pretty special.
What's particularly magical is how Emily brings her culinary expertise into her role. She's used her background at Wendy's to teach the girls how to properly "taste" food, analyzing smell, flavor, and texture of the cookies. She's even had them invent and name their own cookies to learn about entrepreneurship.
