Wendy’s Hot & Crispy Fries and Seasoned Breakfast Potatoes Are Rooted in Canada - Literally

Here’s a story that’s hot, crispy, and proudly Canadian –and deserves all the local love. As Wendy’s celebrates 50 years in Canada, there’s no better time to spotlight something as iconic as our Hot & Crispy Fries and Seasoned Breakfast Potatoes.
Wendy’s commitment to quality starts with fresh ingredients. And when it comes to fries and breakfast potatoes, that means starting with Canadian potatoes supplied by Cavendish Farms. That’s right – every delicious bite is cultivated on home soil, grown by more than 130 family farms across Prince Edward Island, Southern Alberta, and New Brunswick. Our partners at QSCC work closely with Cavendish Farms to help ensure all of Wendy’s potato products deliver the satisfying Hot & Crispy experience our fans expect.
The journey from farm to fryer is one that celebrates Canadian agriculture. After harvesting, the potatoes are also cut right here in Canada, ensuring freshness and quality in every bite.
Wendy’s Hot & Crispy Potato Facts:
- Wendy’s uses over 45 million pounds of Canadian potatoes every year to make our fries and Seasoned Breakfast Potatoes – enough to fill a hockey rink (or maybe more)!
- More than 10 potato varieties go into that craveable texture: crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside.
- Before landing on our signature fry, Wendy’s tested 20 different shapes and cuts to find the one Canadians love most.
As we celebrate 50 years in Canada, we’re proud to serve something that tastes like home. So next time you dip a fry into your Frosty or start your day with Seasoned Breakfast Potatoes, know that you’re enjoying a piece of Canada.
