Frosty® Flavors

While our Orange Dreamsicle Frosty® may be new, you’ve always loved it. Right? Right. It’s actually the current headliner (while Vanilla is on leave) with our classic Chocolate as the opening act. And not to toot our own Frosty horn, but all of our creamy flavors have been well received, scooped, and dipped. In historical order, they include:

  • Chocolate Frosty
  • Vanilla Frosty
  • Strawberry Frosty
  • Peppermint Frosty
  • Pumpkin Spice Frosty
  • Orange Dreamsicle Frosty

One last thing — if you’re interested in the history of how Dave took our classic Frosty from a local treat to a national treasure, dig in below.

And let’s be real, if you read this far, there’s no way you can resist not getting one.

Frosty FAQs

What flavors of Frosty does Wendy’s have?

We currently have Orange Dreamsicle and Chocolate Frosty available.

What’s Wendy’s new Frosty flavor?

Orange Dreamsicle – it is the perfect blend of orange citrus and Vanilla that delivers the ultimate nostalgic experience.

What is the Wendy’s Frosty 5k? What are Wendy’s Frosty Key Tags?

The Wendy's Frosty 5K was a virtual race benefiting the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
Wendy’s Frosty Key Tags allow you to get a FREE Jr. Frosty with any purchase every day until the end of the year.

Does Wendy’s have seasonal Frosty flavors?

Yes! While we can’t share what is coming down the pipeline just yet, keep an eye out as we are continuing to have fun with seasonally inspired flavors!

What is in a Wendy’s Frosty?

There’s a vanilla base made from milk and sugar — and then we add a custom syrup blend for our seasonal flavors.

Is the Frosty a milkshake or ice cream?

Neither! That is why it is one of the most iconic frozen desserts. It has a creamy texture that's thicker than a milkshake but not as firm as traditional scooped ice cream. Too thick for a straw and easily scooped with a spoon.

Is the Vanilla Frosty discontinued? Is it coming back?

We know there are a lot of Vanilla fans out there! We have your back – Vanilla is not permanently off the menu and will return later in 2024.

What Wendy’s Frosty flavors have been discontinued?

We have done a lot of Frosty innovation since the early 2000s and most recently have launched our seasonal Frosty flavors. We are constantly evaluating our consumer needs so never say never to an old Frosty flavor making it’s return.

Does Wendy’s have a coffee Frosty?

We do not but check out our Frosty Cream Cold Brew for cold brew mixed with our legendary Frosty creamer!

What size Frosty is in the Biggie Bag™?

Along with fries and choice of nuggs, burgers or sandwiches, customers can enjoy a Jr. Frosty in their Biggie Bag.

Why do people dip fries in their Frosty?

Because quite simply — it’s the perfect combination of salty and sweet, hot and cold, creamy and crispy.

What flavor was the original Frosty?

Chocolate was the very first Frosty flavor. The history of how the Frosty came to be might surprise you.

Does Wendy’s Frosty have dairy?

Yes. All Frosty flavors start with milk within their base.

Do you eat a Frosty with a spoon or straw?

If you prefer a straw, you can try enjoying a Frosty that way — but do it at your own risk. It’s super thick and creamy so you may need to wait a while for it to melt. Traditionally, a spoon is the way to go. And don’t be shy dipping into it with fries. Chef’s kiss.
